Climb to the top of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and meet your historically costumed guide on the drawbridge at the main gate of the Halifax Citadel. For 70 minutes, you'll be led by candlelight through tunnels and prison cells, and hear true accounts of unexplained events in their actual locations.
Dates
There are no more public ghost tours scheduled for the 2024 season. Public ghost tours will run between July and October 2025 - please check back in spring 2025 for more information!
Times
Ghost tours begin at 8:30 pm, and last for approximately 70 minutes.
Location
Tours begin at the front gate of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site.
Tickets
Tickets are $17.49 (plus Eventbrite fees and tax), and can be purchased:
- Online via Eventbrite in advance of each tour
- At the front kiosk of the Halifax Citadel between 7:30 - 8:30 pm on the night of each tour (subject to availability)
Additional Information
- Public ghost tours are offered in English only. Private ghost tours are available in English and French.
- Tours generally run rain or shine, but may be cancelled in the event of particularly inclement weather.

Private ghost tours are $240 plus tax, and can accommodate up to approximately 25 participants. Please note that an additional fee may apply for some private ghost tours scheduled during our winter season (November 1 to May 6).
